About My Wellness and Counselling Journey

A Foundation Built Through Lived Experience

My work is rooted in personal healing,
emotional wellness, cultural understanding, and relationship guidance for individuals and families navigating complex life transitions. I provide supportive spaces where people can speak openly, reconnect with their self-worth, and approach relationships with greater emotional awareness and clarity.

Through counselling sessions, wellness programmes, speaking engagements, and community conversations, I help clients move through difficult emotional experiences with dignity, compassion, and honest guidance.

About the Founder

Hi, I’m Gogo weSthembu.

My real name is Khothatso Hlophe, and I am a Global Polygamy Wellness
Counsellor, author, speaker, healer, and qualified Development Practitioner. I studied with the University of Johannesburg, however my
work was shaped through lived experience, emotional healing, and a deep passion for helping individuals and families navigate relationship
challenges with greater emotional awareness, dignity, and clarity.

My journey began when my husband announced, just one month after our wedding celebration, that he intended to take a second wife. What could have become a painful and silent experience instead became the beginning of a healing journey that transformed my life and purpose. I realised that many women enter polygamy unexpectedly, often without emotional preparation, healthy communication, or supportive relationship leadership.

In response, I founded the Hello Polygamy movement, a platform focused on healthier conversations around polygamy, emotional healing, self-worth, leadership, and relationship wellness. My mission is not to promote or condemn polygamy, but to help individuals and families navigate it with honesty, empathy, emotional responsibility, and structures that protect the wellbeing of women, children, and families.

As part of this work, I developed the Polygamist Readiness Framework and authored the book Hello Polygamy: What Every Man Must Do Before He Tells His Wife. The framework encourages emotional accountability, honest communication, and healthier leadership within relationship structures.

With a qualification in Development Studies, ongoing psychology studies, and membership with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP), I have provided counselling and wellness support to clients across South Africa, Kenya, Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Algeria, Finland, and beyond.

Each session I provide is designed to be a compassionate and emotionally supportive space rooted in understanding, guidance, spiritual insight, and personal empowerment. Having personally walked this journey since 2018, I understand the emotional challenges many people struggle to express openly.

Today, my work has become more than a personal brand. It is a movement centred on healing, honest conversations, emotional accountability, and healthier African family structures.
